Yanni Young was born and raised in Harlem. She is now a current senior at Talent Unlimited High school. She’s an aspiring filmmaker along with wanting to do many other things in life. Seeing film as an artform, she wants to use her films as a tool for artivism. Yanni is also a spoken word artist, and has used this talent of hers to convey to people how she feels about the current state of the world in relation to people of color and the global treatment of women. Working with Waves of Change has taught me to work with people with varying opinions and learning how to accommodate everyone’s point of views. It’s helped strengthen my editing abilities, and has also made her more observant of film techniques that filmmakers use.
